Midlands Men's Hike
About the Ministry
A young ministry with a growing fire
The Midlands Men's Hike began with a small group of men from Columbia who first encountered God in a life‑changing way on the Seacoast Men's Hike in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. What started as a handful of Midlands men traveling to the mountain became the spark that God used to awaken something new in our region.
We remain deeply grateful for the men of Seacoast Church. Their faithfulness, generosity, and willingness to invest in men beyond their own congregation played a significant role in shaping our early steps. Their influence helped ignite the desire to make this kind of encounter with God available to men here in the Midlands.
A One‑Church Vision
From the beginning, God impressed on our hearts a vision rooted in unity. We see the Midlands Men's Hike as a One‑Church ministry, not because of branding, but because of conviction.
We believe this ministry belongs to the one Church of Jesus Christ in the city of Columbia, expressed through many congregations but united in mission. Our hope is to see churches work together so that every man in our city has repeated opportunities to hear and experience the gospel, and for those who respond, to be rooted in a local congregation where they can grow in their relationship with God the Father, discover their gifting, and learn to share their story of God's grace.
Humbled. Encouraged. Resolved.
We are a young ministry, only one hike in, but we have already seen God move in ways that have humbled us, encouraged us, and strengthened our resolve. Our leadership team is made up of volunteers who have personally experienced God's transforming work on the mountain.
We serve with a simple commitment:
Focus on the one man in front of us — and trust God with the rest.
Each season, we prepare with prayerful expectation, believing that God will continue to meet men in powerful and personal ways.
Awakened Hearts. Rooted Identity. Purposeful Living.
The Midlands Men's Hike exists to help men encounter God in a way that awakens their hearts, strengthens their identity, and calls them into purposeful living. We want to see men walk in the freedom, clarity, and courage that comes from knowing who they are in Christ.
Encounter
A real, personal meeting with the living God — not a program, but a moment that changes everything.
Identity
Knowing who you are as a son of God — the foundation every man needs to stand on.
Purpose
Walking with clarity and courage — in your home, your work, your church, and your community.
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
To the Glory of the Father
We are committed wholeheartedly to the glory of our loving Father God. It is our privilege to serve His kingdom through this ministry, and we are grateful for the trust He has placed in us. We aim to honor Him in all things — on the mountain, in our preparation, and in the way we walk with men long after the hike ends.
We believe God is just beginning something in the Midlands.
